RYA Motor Cruising
If you have recently bought or you own a motor cruiser, why not attend a course which will in still your confidence in handling your boat correctly? I know that you probably bought your motor cruiser to enjoy as your second home and to enjoy the on board facilities with a degree of comfort while spending time afloat. But why stop there. Most people are nervous about using their boat and as a wife to an unfairly called ‘gin palace’ owner, I was especially nervous about the potential damage I could do, to not only our boat but those in the marina and next door berth.
I grasped the nettle and in the first instance attended an RYA local course at the entry level 2.
Practical motor cruising courses
The scheme comprises the series of practical courses below, complemented by our navigation and other specialist short courses. You can use them simply to increase your knowledge and confidence, or as a progression to the RYA/MCA Certificates of Competence which are recognised by maritime authorities worldwide.
You can enter our programme at any level, provided you have the correct level of experience beforehand. Be realistic when assessing your current experience and abilities and, if in doubt; discuss your requirements with us before booking your course.
Helmsman Covering basic boat handling
Day Skipper Take charge on short passages under instruction
Coastal Skipper Make full use of the boat on longer more complex passages
