PAT Testing (Portable Appliance Training).

The aim of the Portable Appliance Testing training course is to ensure that personnel are familiar with Portable Appliance Testing Procedures and the use of a Portable Appliance Testing Machine and can apply it safely and correctly to test electrical appliances.

On completion of the course the delegate should be able to:

Understand the need for portable appliance testing.
Be able to reasonably assess the required test period of a range of appliances.
Distinguish between classes of appliances.
Use a portable appliance tester, safely and accurately.
Know when and how to perform a ‘flash’ test.
Know when to perform a ‘run’ test. Establish and maintain an accurate record of appliances, testing frequencies and a test history.
Know how to down load test results.
Recognise and know how to overcome a range of problems peculiar to portable appliance testing. All delegates that attend the training will receive a competence certificate.

The Pat testing training is in line with the current code of practice written by the Institute of Electrical Engineers. If you are new to pat testing we’ll ease you gently through all of the electrical knowledge you need to know.

Most of the people that attend our pat training courses are of a non-electrical background. If you have your own pat tester bring it along on the day. We’ll show you how to use it. If you don’t have equipment then we supply pat testing equipment which you can use on the day. We also carry out training courses on specific types of pat testing equipment.

The cost of the course is £195 +vat per person. Currently we hold Portable Appliance Testing.

All consultants hold professional membership of the chartered Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

Cost is £195.00 per person + VAT (Fully inclusive of certification, workbooks and handout materials)
