IOSH launches Level 3 Certificate in Safety and Health for Business
On Monday 20th November at the ICC in Birmingham, IOSH Chief Executive, Bev Messinger, outlined a new qualification in health and safety:
NCFE IOSH Level 3 Certificate in Safety and Health for Business.
The qualification offers both a business and a technical focus, with an emphasis on delivering tangible benefits for all organisations.
As well as providing a technical overview of safety and health, this qualification addresses current issues including how to drive programmes of cultural change. It also includes what it described as ‘pioneering new content’, such as managing uncertainty and how organisations can asapt to long-term ‘megatrends’ affecting the safety of the workplace. There is also a strong focus on health and wellbeing, including health hazards, health assessment, global health trends and good practice.
The Ofqual-regulated Level 3 Certificate in Safety and Health for business has been developed by IOSH in collaboration with awarding body NCFE, and builds on the tried-and-tested IOSH managing safety course to equip supervisors and managerswith the right knowledge and skills to evaluate safety systems, identify areas for improvement, implement control measures and reduce risk.
S A Associates Management Training are especially excited by the oppertuniy this new programme affords to existing IOSH Managing Safely Certificate holders, whose prior learning we understand will contribute to them gaining the new qualification.
